I finally saw Of Montreal this week. When they played St Exquisite's Confessions, lead singer Kevin Barnes, took his top off admit squeals from the female contingent in the audience. Musically they were tight and played a few from Skeletal Lamping and ifnishing on a ten minute Hookworms esqe hard psych out. Well worth  the 6 year wait! That Fucking Tank and Moderat last night. Last night I saw That Fucking Tank support Foals. Foals apparently asked them to support them on tour. Which is a crazy line up! TFT are a two-piece instrumental band with a DIY ethos and..basically take no shit! Musically, think a funkier version of Lighting Bolt. They played their classic set finishing with fan-favourite Keanu Reef. I didn't stay for Foals though as I went back into town to see Moderat. Bill Callahan at The Ritz in Manchester tonight. His voice is like deep velvet (whatever that is), playing mostly his new album and dropped in Dress Sexy At My Funeral later on in the set. Some of the solos felt that they were going to fall apart any minute, like a drunk version of Television or late Pavement. Much enjoyment! Chin Of Britain - Chin Of Britain

Been sorting out some CDs today and been listening to ones that might have slipped under my radar (ie ended up in the wrong pile!). So here's one, Chin Of Britain, it's Chin Keeler ex of Quickspace (Supersport!). Apparently recorded on an old computer, this is his solo album which came out in October. It has a sinister human-eyed chimp on the cover, but don't let that put you off. This is more like a slightly more upbeat Yo La Tengo.
